The Norwegian city of Bergen is one of Europe’s key hubs for offshore oil and gas operations, serving as a strategic base for exploration and production activities in the North Sea. From Bergen’s heliports and supply ports, crews and equipment are transported daily to offshore platforms operated by major companies such as Equinor, Aker BP, and Vår Energi. The city’s proximity to major oil fields like Troll, Oseberg, and Gullfaks makes it a vital logistics and aviation center, with numerous helicopter flights operated by Bristow and CHC. Beyond energy production, Bergen also plays a leading role in advancing offshore safety, training, and sustainability across Norway’s maritime and energy sectors.
