7 Flt was part of 656 Sq during the 1960s. It was in Brunei between Dec 1962-Jan 1963 in support of Queens Own Highlanders. At Kuching, Sarawak May 1963 to Oct 1964. At Terendak (Malacca) with 6 Scouts by Jun 1968. Disbanded in Apr 1970, it reformed in Berlin, but its Scouts left Terendak on RFA Sir Galahad in Jan 1970 for Hong Kong and the new 656 Sq flights. It moved to Seria (Brunei) and was eventually renamed C Flt of 656 Sq.
In 1994, 7 Flt, which had been stationed at RAF Gatow was disbanded and the nameplate transferred back to C Flight of 656 Squadron at Seria.
After the introduction of the Bell 212 (replacing the Scout), the Flight played a key role in the multi-national relief effort, following the Boxing Day 2004 Sumatra Earthquake and Tsunami around Banda Aceh, being committed for 5 weeks.
On 1 Aug 2021, was renumbered as 667 Squadron, AAC.
Part of the British Army Berlin Brigade was based at Gatow from 1970 until 1994.
Following the handover of Hong Kong in 1997, 7 Flight was reactivated to replace 656 Squadron C Flight at Seria, Brunei supporting the Gurkha Brigade and the British Training Team Brunei
