Lighthouse Operations

Trinity House began using helicopters in 1969 to transport people and supplies to and from offshore lighthouses.

From dates for Lighthouses are dates of installation of the helicopter platform, rather than the date the lighthouse was built. Only TH Lighthouses with a helicopter platform are shown.

Most of its 60 or so Lighthouses are now unmanned and remotely operated and monitored from its Harwich ROC.
