    1990-sepDeploymentPersian Gulf Task Group 321.1 Armilla Patrol Deployed to reinforce Armilla Patrol after Kuwaiti annexation by Iraq. Joined by HMS Cardiff and HMS Brazen as part of TG 321.1, relieving HMS Battleaxe, HMS Jupiter and HMS York. HMS Gloucester was relieved by HMS Exeter, leaving theatre on 25 Feb and returned to HMNB Portsmouth on 25 Mar 1991.
    1991-feb-25Deploymentfired Sea Dart to down an Iraqi Seersucker missile, bearing down on USS Missouri (BB-63), the first validated operational missile-on-missile engagement, whilst on Armilla Patrol.
    1992-novPort VisitWhile deployed to the Adriatic to support NATO operations in Bosnia and as escort for RFA Argus, made the first visit to Albania since 1938.

    2004DeploymentSouth Atlantic Atlantic Patrol Task (South) departed HMNB Portsmouth for Atlantic Patrol Task (South) deployment. Operated around Falkland Islands between Dec 2004 and Mar 2005, relieving HMS Iron Duke and herself relieved by HMS Portland in Mar 2005.
    2006-mar-29Deploymentdeparted HMNB Portsmouth, as escort to HMS Illustrious (leading the Aquila 06 deployment to the Persian Gulf), and supported by RFA Brambleleaf, RFA Diligence and RFA Fort Victoria. Illustrious and Gloucester were detached in mid Jul and ordered back to Beirut, Lebanon.
