The 920th Rescue Wing, based at Patrick Space Force Base in Florida, is the only combat search and rescue (CSAR) wing in the Air Force Reserve Command. Beyond combat operations, the 920th has supported a wide range of high-profile missions, including astronaut recovery for NASA launches, disaster relief during hurricanes, and humanitarian aid worldwide. Its airmen balance their civilian lives with military service, and since the wing’s activation, they have saved thousands of lives in peacetime and combat. The 920th Rescue Wing remains one of the Air Force’s most visible examples of the Reserve’s vital role in national security and humanitarian response.
