
Belgian Air Force, October 07, 2016 - 40th squadron organizes October 10-14 an international Search and Rescue (SAR) meeting at air base Koksijde.
During this multinational exercise will participate different helicopters and crews specialized in search and rescue (SAR).
Participants includes a German Sea King, an Austrian Alouette III and Polish Mil Mi-8 together with the Belgian Sea King, NH90 Caiman and Alouette III.
The teams will be evaluated in both navigation and SAR capabilities over land and sea.
The operation area for this exercise extends across the entire province of West Flanders and during the exercise, particularly in and around the Koksijde airbase, an increased operating activity will be seen.
On October 12, the 40th squadron also celebrates the 40 Anniversary of the Sea King and 45th of the Alouette III in the service with the Belgian Defence.
