From 8 Jun a concentration of UK, Commonwealth and World warships began for 15 Jun 1953 at Spithead, to mark the Coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Included a naval flypast lead by Dragonfly of 705 Naval Air Squadron. (At the time, most of the squadrons listed below operated fixed wing types, and the absence of destroyers and frigates from the ship list indicates that the age of Ships Flights hadnt yet begun).
