Reformed in Oct 1969 from 5 Field Regiment RA Operations Flight (5 Flt) and 15/19 Hussars Air Squadron. It disbanded in Jul 1977 at Netheravon and reformed in place at Soest on 1 Apr 1978, by renumbering 660 Squadron, taking over their Sioux and Scout airframes as part of 3 REGT AAC. It remained based at Soest (apart from detachments and roulements) until withdrawn from Germany when it moved to Wattisham in 1993.
Formed in 1969, the squadron had Bell47 Sioux AH1 and Westland Scout AH1 helicopters.
