Provided daytime only SAR coverage for the UK SRR Portland District, at 15 minutes standby between 09H00 and 21H00. 
Despite the major reorganisation of the main SAR provision for the whole UK, the SAR service from Portland continued under the HMCG GAP contract through 2015. This also helped to ease the pressure from further east up the English Channel, following the 2014 closure of Manston and while the new base and full service from Lydd was being consolidated. The MCA SAR Service concluded from Portland on 30 Jun 2017.
