Combined Task Force 150 (CTF-150) is a multinational naval force operating under the U.S.-led Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), headquartered in
Bahrain, with the mission of promoting maritime security and countering illicit activities in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, Gulf of Oman, and the Indian Ocean. Established in 2002 in the context of post-9/11 security operations, CTF-150 focuses on disrupting terrorism-related movements, arms trafficking, narcotics smuggling, and other destabilizing activities at sea, while enhancing freedom of navigation and regional stability. The task force is composed of warships, maritime patrol aircraft, and personnel contributed on a rotational basis by a broad coalition of partner nations, with command rotating regularly among member states. Over time, CTF-150 has evolved into a key framework for international maritime cooperation, intelligence sharing, and capacity building in one of the world's most strategically vital maritime regions.
