ISAF

International Security Assistance Force is a NATO-led security mission in Afghanistan established by the UN Res 1386. Non-NATO countries includes Australia, Azerbaijan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and United Arab Emirates.

Canadian Forces contribution was done under Operation Athena, air component was JTF-Afghanistan Air Wing

The British contribution to expelling the Taliban, securing and stablising the country, training its military and police forces and reconstruction, was carried out initially under Operation Fingal and later, under Operation Herrick.

- From March 2004 to March 2005, 301 Squadron temporarily based at Kabul IAP.
With six AH-64D Q-01, Q-08, Q-17, Q-30, 2 unknown.
- From April 2005 to April 2006, 298 Squadron temporarily based at Kandahar IAP. In this period they using 3 CH-47D.
In this period used D-101, D-661, D-664.
- From March 2006 to April 2007, 5 AvnRgt. temporarily based at Kandahar IAP. Using 2 CH-47D.

December 2014: end of operation and beginning of new operation Resolute Support at january 2015
