
The US Army Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft or FLRAA, developed in conjunction with the FARA, program aims to replace the Black Hawk helicopters. Planning began in 2016 with an analysis of alternatives or AOA which was completed by end 2018
The Joint Multi-Role Technology Demonstrator (JMR-TD) contract award is scheduled for 2021, first flight for 2023 and initial operational capability (IOC) by 2030.
Although led by the Army, the FLRAA is defined as a multi-service program.
In December 2022, the Bell V-280 was selected as the FLRAA winner
